Things to do in Paris on a Sunday – Running

On Sundays, many stores and shops are closed in Paris. So what if you don’t feel like having a brunch at a café or are tired of museums?

Well on sunday mornings, and throughout the day until 16:30, the quai (quay) along the river Seine is closed off from traffic and you can run, walk, skate or bike without having to stop for traffic. A true luxury in any big city.

The running path I usually take blends stretches made of asphalt(car roads) with those made out of cobblestones.

  1. I was in Paris last Sunday (Sept.15). From window of train to Versailles, we could see many MANY runners crossing one of the Seine bridges. Was this a typical Sunday turnout, or was there a special running event that day? Thanks!
